Features: Water resources standardization, as the foundation and means for strengthening the government's macro-control, is the primary technical guarantee of the water resources industry. Over the years, with the support and assistance of relevant units and departments, water resources standardization has made significant progress. In the new century, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have listed water resources alongside grain and oil/gas resources as important national strategic resources, placing water resource issues in a prominent position and proposing new strategies and goals for water management. Just like the water resources industry, China's water resources standardization is facing rare development opportunities and greater challenges. To implement the Party Central Committee and the State Council's water management strategies, support the sustainable use of water resources for the sustainable development of the national economy and society, and achieve water resources modernization, we have compiled and published the "Compendium of Water Resources Technical Standards" (hereinafter referred to as "the Compendium"). This is to meet the practical work needs of water resources technical personnel. This Compendium includes standards listed in the "Water Resources Technical Standards System" as well as major relevant technical standards that directly serve water resources construction. This Compendium only includes currently effective technical standards and does not include draft or under-review standards. The release dates of the included standards are limited to January 31, 2001. In the future, annual editions will be published annually as supplements to this Compendium. This Compendium adopts the three-dimensional structural framework of the "Water Resources Technical Standards System Table" and is divided into ten volumes based on the professional category dimension. Among them, the "Water Resources" category is combined with the "Water Environment" category due to the fewer number of standards in it. The bibliographic entries of other important relevant standards are included in the appendix of this Compendium.
