Features: In the year C.E. (Cosmic Era) 71, the war between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT, sparked by the "Blood," had reached a stalemate. Both sides were evenly matched, and just over eleven months had passed. In the neutral nation of Orb's space colony Heliopolis, a boy named Kira Yamato and his friends were forcibly taken aboard the newly built Earth Alliance battleship "Archangel." ZAFT seized four new weapons and seized the opportunity to launch another attack on the "Archangel." Kira didn't want to fight, but he knew only he, as a Coordinator, could protect his friends. He had no choice but to pilot the "Strike" once again. During the battle, Kira unexpectedly encountered his old friend Aslan Saar, who was piloting the X-303 "Aegis." Both were greatly surprised by each other's circumstances. Meanwhile, as the battle intensified, Heliopolis finally collapsed. The "Archangel," which was heading toward the moon, was relentlessly pursued by ZAFT's Keres unit. To protect his friends, Kira fought desperately, ignoring Aslan's calls, who didn't understand his feelings. At that very moment, the "Archangel" suddenly suffered mechanical failure and was pulled by Earth's gravity, drifting toward the dangerous debris field of space.
