Features: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis primarily consists of two parts: diagnostic methods and syndrome differentiation. Diagnostic methods in TCM focus on obtaining clinical information and conducting pathogenesis analysis, while syndrome differentiation emphasizes the identification of syndromes. These two aspects are interpenetrating and interconnected. TCM diagnosis has gradually formed and developed through the long-term medical practice of predecessors. It serves as a bridge between basic TCM disciplines and clinical specialties, making it a core course in the TCM professional curriculum. Based on the experience of previously published TCM Diagnosis textbooks, this edition has added clinically significant diagnostic methods to the diagnostic methods section, such as auricular diagnosis and second metacarpal bone side diagnosis. Additionally, the inquiry section now includes questions about emotional states. The syndrome differentiation section is divided into two chapters: disease nature differentiation and disease location differentiation. The original eight-principle differentiation, etiological differentiation, and qi-blood-body fluid differentiation are primarily integrated into the disease nature differentiation chapter, while zang-fu organ differentiation and other differentiation methods are unified under the disease location differentiation chapter. Furthermore, in line with the research progress in TCM diagnosis, this textbook has introduced new research approaches and methods in TCM diagnosis. The entire book emphasizes the teaching of fundamental theories, basic knowledge, and essential skills in TCM diagnosis. It trains students to utilize "magic cube"-style combinatorial methods for precise clinical syndrome differentiation, enhancing their comprehensive application skills and broadening their perspectives.
