Criminal Science Colloquium. Volume 2

Publish Date: 2004-09-01
Features: Although the emergence and development of criminology have fundamentally changed human attitudes toward crime, if this change remains only at the level of concepts and cannot be reflected in national systems, especially in the criminal legal system, then this change cannot have practical significance for crime prevention and control, and criminology cannot fully demonstrate its theoretical value. In fact, since the birth of criminology, through more scientific and detailed research on crime as a social phenomenon, it has always been one of the important goals of criminology to attempt to influence existing social systems, making them conform to the basic theoretical requirements of criminology for crime prevention, and actively and effectively preventing and controlling crime from the perspective of establishing and improving national systems. This pursuit still holds value today.
