Features: The research object of this book is one of the most important immigrant groups in Qing Dynasty Liaodong, namely the Han Chinese immigrants enrolled in the Eight Banners system and the society they formed. In the early Qing Dynasty, this group was once the main developers of areas such as today's Liaoning and even the entire Northeast, as well as the largest population group in these regions. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, they rose to become one of the most important political forces in Northeast China. Their production and lifestyles formed an important feature of social life in Northeast China since modern times, and their activities and influence were one of the most critical links in the transformation of Northeast China from an ancient traditional society to a modern society. This may seem like a small topic, but it involves many fields such as the history of Northeast China, the history of Qing Dynasty immigration, population history, and ethnic history, especially the history of the Manchu people. We have also used research methods from disciplines outside of history. Of course, our exploration of these fields and attempts at research methods are only preliminary, with many aspects needing supplementation, correction, and improvement; some questions have only been raised without answers. However, we believe that these attempts and the raising of questions can provide some inspiration and interest for fellow researchers, and we hope our work can play a role in advancing research in related fields.
