Features: The Chinese nation is one of the most passionate about collecting. Throughout history, there have been many renowned collectors. Since the reform and opening-up, a nationwide "collecting fever" has swept across China. However, collecting is an art, and even seasoned collectors can sometimes fall victim to scams. Nowadays, not only are fakes of calligraphy, paintings, and antiques rampant in the market, but even auctions are occasionally plagued by forgeries. This is indeed a problem that troubles collectors.
Given this, we have compiled and published this series of "Bao Fo Jiao" books, divided into two series: "Identification of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting." This series particularly emphasizes "practicality" and "operationality," aiming to provide genuine assistance to avid collectors. All the authors of this series are not only research experts but also "collectors" and "enthusiasts," with practical experience in their respective fields. They have all "found hidden gems" in their areas of expertise, and some of the works featured in the books are even their personal collections.
The author of Identification of Ancient Mirrors, Mr. Shi Zhengdong, is currently the Deputy Director of the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Press and Publication and the Vice President of the Jiangsu Collecting Association. We asked him to write this book not because he is a government official, but because of his achievements in ancient mirror collecting. Perhaps his professional background has led him to focus more on casting techniques, but it is precisely his comprehensive understanding of the historical context of these ancient mirrors that has enabled him to build such a rich collection and become a distinguished expert in the field.
In the past, teachers often criticized those who didn’t pay attention in class but crammed for exams at the last minute as being "last-minute Bao Fo Jiao" (making a last-minute prayer to Buddha). But is "last-minute Bao Fo Jiao" effective? It probably is, because most people have indeed passed exams this way. In collecting, it’s likely the same—provided you’re holding onto the right "Bao Fo Jiao." Our books are the "Bao Fo Jiao" series, and we’re holding onto the right "Bao Fo Jiao." As the saying goes, "If you don’t burn incense,.,.《》,." Please believe that this is true. If you’re passionate about collecting, why not buy a set of our books and give "Bao Fo Jiao" a try?
