Features: This book has the following three characteristics: , it analyzes the relationship between talent demand and talent supply from an economic perspective, emphasizing the role and status of talent as the main subject in economic growth. It clearly proposes that for developing countries with economic "catch-up" characteristics, such as China, human capital catch-up is the leading factor in achieving economic catch-up, and talent is the fundamental, decisive, and strategic key factor in promoting economic development and growth. Second, based on China's economic development goals and the direction of industrial structure adjustment, it predicts the total demand for talent, ensuring that economic development and talent supply-demand coordination proceed in harmony, with talent demand and supply balanced development. Third, based on qualitative analysis and quantitative forecasting, it proposes strategic concepts and countermeasures for building a talent cultivation and training system from both the perspective of talent increment and stock. Integration and upgrading require more talent with international characteristics; however, the current lag in China's talent cultivation and training system construction has made it difficult to adapt to the diverse talent needs of industrial structure adjustment and the comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society. Therefore, based on relevant data from the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Education, we conducted a sample survey to conduct an in-depth analysis of the current state of talent demand in China, existing problems, and their causes. We found that there are numerous issues in China's talent composition, including insufficient total talent resources, unreasonable talent structure, unbalanced talent distribution, and imperfect market allocation. We also proposed countermeasures for these problems. At the same time, to fundamentally address the issues in China's talent demand and establish a cultivation and training system aligned with economic development and market needs, we conducted qualitative and quantitative analyses of talent demand based on historical data. In line with China's overall education development goals, we proposed countermeasures for improving the higher education system from the perspective of talent increment and systematically proposed a strategic concept for building a talent training system from the perspective of talent stock. A prominent feature of this research project is empirical analysis. To understand the current state of China's talent resources and the types of talent needed by society, the research team, adhering to the principles of pragmatism and representativeness, visited four major talent markets: the Northern Talent Market (Tianjin), the Xi'an Talent Market, the Shenzhen Talent Market, and the Shanghai Talent Market (representing the eastern, central, and western regions, respectively). Leveraging our advantages, we distributed 200 questionnaires to graduating college students and postgraduate students to investigate talent flow and professional structure, with an actual return rate of 200 questionnaires and a valid response rate of 100%. The research team conducted a systematic analysis of the questionnaires and summarized the suggestions provided by employers and students. With the strong support of the Talent Research Institute of the Ministry of Personnel, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Personnel, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Personnel, and the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Personnel, we completed this research report.
