Features: Vocabulary is the cornerstone of English learning. Whether it's teachers or students, everyone talks about how to memorize vocabulary all day, yet they can't find a truly effective way—truly a case of "feeling sympathetic but lacking a plan." The root of the problem lies in two major issues students face in their daily vocabulary learning and memorization: First, the purpose of memorizing words is unclear, making it difficult to determine exactly what should be learned. Second, they don't deeply understand the patterns of vocabulary, and they don't know what methods are truly effective. Combining the focus of the College English Test Band 6 (CET-6) vocabulary test—examining word meaning differentiation and collocation in context—we introduce to students a scientific, practical, simple, easy-to-implement, highly efficient, and long-lasting vocabulary memorization method—the Linking Memory Method.
The Linking Memory Method has the following two key features:
1. Horizontal and vertical linking, using one to remember many
2. Combinatorial memorization, using the familiar to learn the unfamiliar
This book is closely aligned with the "New Syllabus" and focuses on key exam points, integrating the "Linking Memory Method" throughout. It scientifically organizes the core CET-6 vocabulary based on semantic relationships, highlights word usage and collocations, and tightly combines vocabulary learning with practical exercises. This approach not only reflects the connections and distinctions between words but also integrates usage, collocation relationships, and exam content, creating a cohesive and mutually reinforcing system that significantly enhances vocabulary memorization efficiency.
Additionally, this book includes a "Basic & Cognate Word List" to help students identify and fill gaps, while also covering all the vocabulary required by the "New Syllabus" for CET-6 mastery.
