Witch Dictionary: A Collection of Li Bihua's Works (VI) - Essays

Publish Date: 2001-05-01
Features: This is a collection of essays titled The Witch's Dictionary, consisting of 'The Dictionary of Women,' 'The Witch's Cold View of Men,' 'The Witch's (Disciplining) of Female Brethren,' and 'The Witch's Love, Hate, and Intelligence Nine.' The entire book deconstructs traditional culture with rebellious irony. 'Sharp and incisive' is its most striking feature. Here, readers will not find the gentleness and kindness of ordinary women, but instead sense their cunning intelligence, mystery, and elusive charm—like a witch, 'a bit fiery, a bit devilish, a bit wicked.' In addition to the brilliant writing, the book is accompanied by expressive cartoons, achieving a harmonious integration of text and image.
