The textbook emphasizes practicality, systematicity, knowledge, and interest, aiming to break through both content and form to meet the needs of Japanese teaching and learning in the new century and new era. The goal of this textbook is to cultivate learners' comprehensive ability to use Japanese, laying a solid foundation for them to master listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation skills. Hence, it is named Comprehensive Japanese. The conversations in this textbook are closely related to learners' actual lives, striving to be authentic and vivid. It not only emphasizes the basic application of Japanese knowledge but also pays more attention to the appropriate expression of Japanese. In the design of scenes and content arrangement, it focuses on integrating the cultural connotations of China and Japan, so that learners can gain rich cultural knowledge of China and Japan while learning Japanese knowledge and skills, thereby improving cultural understanding and developing cross-cultural communication skills. When compiling this textbook, it also takes into account the significant difference between spoken and written Japanese, and strives to help learners master the ability to use different registers. The textbook does not adopt the traditional Japanese grammar system. Instead, it summarizes a more practical and scientific grammar system based on the common grammar system used in Japanese teaching for foreign learners in recent years, combined with the characteristics of Chinese learners of Japanese. Practical evidence shows that it is relatively easy for learners to accept.
