Features: The National Security Agency (NSA) is one of the largest, most powerful, and most secretive intelligence agencies in the world, employing over 38,000 people. Even a behemoth like the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) pales in comparison to it in terms of funding, manpower, and influence. However, due to strict secrecy, the NSA is rarely mentioned publicly, and its organizational structure and espionage activities are even less known. The Secret Institution: Inside the NSA is one of the few specialized books in the world that has exposed the secrets of the U.S. core espionage activities. The book reveals for the first time the role of the NSA during the Cold War, its espionage activities during the Vietnam War, its surveillance of the Russian submarine Kursk and the al-Qaeda terrorist network, as well as its high-tech global surveillance network spanning the world. Many of the insiders' revelations in the book are shocking and give readers a glimpse into just the tip of the iceberg of the National Security Agency.
