Features: This book aims to promote the coordinated operation and efficient development of China's retail industry, improve the economic performance of its industry organizations, and enhance the international competitiveness of Chinese retailers. Based on defining concepts such as industry, industrial organization, retail, retail industry, retail industrial organization, and retail industrial organizational structure, it explores the socio-economic and economic development significance of optimizing the organizational structure of the retail industry. Therefore, this paper proposes the concept of an urban-rural linkage strategy. On one hand, domestic retailers should actively develop several promising retail formats in cities and adopt effective strategies to compete with foreign retail giants in the market share. On the other hand, they should simultaneously extend their presence to rural retail markets, capture and control these markets, and build a modern rural retail industrial organizational system supported by small towns. This will further strengthen their competitiveness against foreign retailers in urban areas and improve China's retail industrial organizational system. Finally, applying the principles of industrial organization policy and drawing on the experiences of the retail industrial organization policies of the United States and Japan, combined with China's actual conditions, it systematically proposes policy recommendations for optimizing the organizational structure of China's retail industry.
