Features: This book is practical in content, rich in examples, and well-documented. It serves as a reference for design units, engineering companies, instrument workshops, and metrology departments involved in instrument design, installation, maintenance, and commissioning. It can also be used as a training textbook or teaching reference. The application of flow measurement instruments is a complex task due to the diversity of measured media, the complexity of operating conditions, and the variety of instrument types. This book attempts to select measurement instruments rationally from the perspective of users and specific measurement tasks, based on systematic views, according to specific requirements, operating conditions, usage environments, and other conditions, for reasonable installation, correct commissioning, and maintenance and calibration.
Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of this book cover basic knowledge. Chapter 3 introduces the flow measurement of typical fluids [steam, air, gas, natural gas, gas with changing components, water, oil products, and high-saturated steam (gas) pressure liquids], and provides detailed discussions on challenging measurements such as low-flow, high-flow, corrosive fluid flow, and multiphase flow. Chapters 4 and 5 introduce heat (cooling) measurement and flow batch control based on flow measurement. Chapter 6 covers pulsating flow measurement and on-site verification of flow measurement accuracy. Chapter 7 introduces typical flow display instruments. Chapter 8 discusses issues related to improving system accuracy. Chapter 9 covers the generation of errors. Chapter 10 introduces digital communication of flow instruments and the flow data acquisition and monitoring system they form.
