Features: Volume III of the "International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems" is the alphabetical index [] of Volume [] (in Pinyin). When a diagnostic term is reported along with other conditions, or in special circumstances (e.g., certain conditions occurring concurrently with pregnancy), although this index can reflect the provisions in the classification table based on annotations in Volume for changes in diagnostic terms, it cannot fully express such variations in the index terms. Therefore, Volume should be regarded as the primary tool for coding, while the alphabetical index is an indispensable auxiliary part of the classification table. Because it contains a large number of diagnostic terms not appearing in Volume, these two volumes should be used together.
