Features: This book introduces the clinical experience of the modern famous otolaryngologist, Mr. Geng Jianting. Geng Jianting (1915–1999) was from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Born into a family of medical practitioners, he inherited his family's medical knowledge in his youth and completed his classical education in Confucian classics by the age of 14, later specializing in medicine. At the age of 18, he began practicing medicine independently. In 1955, he was transferred to the Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he actively contributed to research, teaching, and clinical practice, particularly excelling in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat conditions, as evidenced by the specific disease treatments in this book. He authored works such as The True Guide to Laryngology and The Lamp of Knowledge in, showcasing the characteristics of Geng's laryngology, especially in treating acute, severe, and critical conditions. Additionally, Geng had extensive knowledge in literature and history, with significant research in bibliography, etymology, epigraphy, ancient artifact studies, and cultural relics archaeology. He also made important contributions to the organization of traditional Chinese medical literature. He initiated a collaboration with the Beijing Library to compile The Joint Catalogue of National Traditional Chinese Medical Books, which became one of the reference tools for the of traditional Chinese medical classics.
