To adapt to the development and needs of information technology, the teaching plans of computer majors and related majors in universities in our country have been adjusted and reformed in recent years, with courses on Web program design being offered to lay a foundation for university graduates to better adapt to social needs. With the release of Microsoft.NET, establishing Internet websites using ASP.NET technology within the .NET framework has become the preferred choice for many Web program design personnel. Currently, there are few textbooks that meet the teaching requirements for ASP.NET program design courses. Therefore, based on our experience and insights from teaching ASP.NET program design courses and Web program development over the past few years, we have written this textbook. ASP.NET technology is a new generation of dynamic Web development tools launched by Microsoft, and it is one of the mainstream technologies for future Web application development in e-commerce, e-government, distance education, and other fields. This book introduces ASP.NET program design technology from the perspective of application development, enabling readers to learn how to use ASP.NET to develop Web applications. The book consists of 8 chapters: Chapter 1 briefly introduces the basic knowledge of ASP.NET programming and the development environment for ASP.NET programs; Chapter 2 explains the syntax basics of VB.NET; Chapters 3 and 4 introduce server controls in ASP.NET (including HTML controls and Web controls) as well as various objects; Chapter 5 introduces ASP.NET's database access technology; Chapter 6 introduces advanced applications of ASP.NET, including user controls, ASP.NET configuration, ASP.NET optimization, program debugging, and exception handling; Chapter 7 introduces the application technology of XML in ASP.NET; and Chapter 8 provides a comprehensive ASP.NET application example to enhance readers' comprehensive design and application capabilities in ASP.NET program design technology. The book is rich in content, well-structured, and clearly explained, with numerous application examples and exercises provided for each chapter to facilitate self-study. This book can serve as a textbook for computer majors and related majors in universities, as well as a reference for Web program developers.
