Features: According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education's "Regulations on School Physical Education" and "National General Higher Education College Physical Education Curriculum Teaching Guidance Outline," we attempted to compile the "University Physical Education and Health Teaching Material" for public physical education courses in higher education institutions. The book has the following distinctive characteristics:
1. Novel System. This textbook differs significantly from the twenty or so previously published university public physical education textbooks in China in terms of its system. Centered around the guiding principles of the textbook's compilation, it strives to address the issue of the infinite nature of subject knowledge versus the limited nature of the curriculum, emphasizing structural rationality and innovative frameworks.
2. Reasonable Content Allocation. The textbook makes efforts to resolve four key issues in content selection and allocation: First, the continuity of physical education teaching content between universities, middle schools, and primary schools, ensuring it aligns with the physical and mental development characteristics and needs of university students. Second, the differentiation between general and special development, catering to students with varying levels of athletic proficiency. Third, the integration of traditional and modern approaches. Fourth, the unification of competitive skill-based and fitness-oriented activities.
3. Emphasis on Scientific Rigor. The textbook strives to be based on scientific research findings, avoiding general descriptions and empty rhetoric.
4. Strong Practical Application. The textbook emphasizes the connection between theory and practice, aiming to help students apply what they learn, thereby facilitating both learning and practical application.
5. Readability and Engagement. Highlighting the student-centered approach, the textbook enhances readability and appeal.
