Features: Against the trend of vulgarity yet unable to eradicate it, the historically unchosen is now being definitively chosen. Is this a pointless ramble or a profound debate? Like a handful of rare writers, Kundera uses novels to speak without words, in silence containing harsh truths, and in eloquence harboring beautiful promises. Everything that has happened on earth has been rewritten a hundred or a thousand times, yet no one has ever thought to verify what actually occurred. Human history is repeatedly rewritten, and people no longer know who they are.
