Features: Grapes are one of the fruit trees with the largest planting area and highest yield in the world, and they also hold an important position in China's fruit production. Grape berries are colorful, juicy, with a sweet and sour taste, excellent flavor, and rich nutrition, making them a favorite healthy fresh fruit for people. With the improvement of people's living standards and a deeper understanding of the natural health benefits of grapes, the demand for fresh grapes in domestic and international markets has been increasing. Consumers' demand for fruits has shifted from simply tasting to health needs, gradually transforming into year-round consumption. However, under open-field cultivation conditions, the ripening period of fresh grapes is mostly concentrated in the three months of July, August, and September, resulting in a very short supply period. Moreover, China is vast in territory, with grape production mainly concentrated in the northwest, north China, the surrounding areas of the Bohai Bay, and the Huaihai region. The vast areas south of the Yangtze River have seen rapid development in grape production in recent years, but due to ecological limitations, few suitable varieties can be planted. Based on the seasonal and regional characteristics of grape production, the author and colleagues pioneered the exploration of production methods and technical issues for year-round supply of fresh grapes nationwide starting in the late 1980s. This book is a summary of the author's more than ten years of research and practice.
