Features: These two types of poetic critiques, though distinguished in their merits, differ in nature and content. One can be understood intuitively but is not easily explained, while the other is straightforward and clear, requiring no elaborate interpretation. Therefore, I have adopted different approaches for the two types of annotations. For one, I have selected ancient interpretations, as they are closer to the essence and often clearer than verbose explanations. For the other, I have focused on Yuan's annotations, including Yuan's Poetic Discourses, to highlight the core essence. Why does Sikongtu's Poetic Critiques emphasize the highlighting of marvelous realms? In fact, some origins can be traced in the poetic styles of Tang Dynasty poets. The ancients ranked Li Bai and Du Fu side by side, with Du Fu's poetry being practical, likened to the "sage of poetry"; Li Bai's poetry was unrestrained, likened to the "immortal of poetry." Thus, Wang Yuyang paired Wang Wei with them, as Du Fu's poetry was rich in subtle charm beyond mere meaning, detached yet connected, making Du Fu the "buddha of poetry."
