Features: Traditional Chinese painting, with its unique artistic language, records the features of every historical era in the Chinese nation, reflecting and embodying our nation's aesthetic will and traditional thought. It stands out in the world of art with its Eastern artistic characteristics and has become a treasure of the world's cultural heritage. As contemporary people, we are fortunate and proud to inherit and enjoy such a precious cultural legacy. Facing such immense wealth, it is also the responsibility of contemporary people to inherit and promote the outstanding parts of it, applying the old to the new. The series follows the basic framework of the history of ancient Chinese painting, establishing separate volumes around the content and themes of traditional painting, as well as its forms and genres. It focuses on compiling stylized works and masterpieces of typical painters, emphasizing technical features, artistic style, and exemplary effects. From a macro perspective, the series ensures a coherent structure and enriches its content. It increases the number of volumes for painters and themes favored by contemporary audiences, as well as forms and genres with aesthetic vitality. Experienced painters and art theorists with rich teaching backgrounds contribute necessary introductions. As much as possible, supplementary content is attached in line with the exemplary purpose to bridge the gap between readers and the masterpieces.
The continuity and dating of ancient works, as well as their authenticity and quality, are prominent academic issues that arise when compiling this series. Based on the exemplary purpose, we generally follow the established views of scholars. Here, we briefly outline the editorial work of the series and sincerely hope to continue receiving the attention and support of readers. We aim to create opportunities for more people to understand traditional Chinese painting art, allowing Rongbaozhai Huapu·Ancient Part to once again become a nourishing soil for the development of national painting art. It should play its role in promoting traditional spirit and creating Chinese paintings that meet people's needs and embody contemporary aesthetics.
