Russian Soviet Art History

Features: The art of Russia and the Soviet Union holds a unique position in the history of world art. However, when opening a "History of World Art" written by Western scholars, almost little space is dedicated to Russian and Soviet art. Even when it is occasionally mentioned, the evaluation is often biased. With this purpose in mind, the author wrote this "History of Russian-Soviet Art." The Russian art section covers architecture, painting, and sculpture, only because Russian painting and sculpture are closely related to architecture. The Soviet art section omits architecture and focuses primarily on painting and sculpture.
