Approximately 2,500 years ago, during the Warring States period of China's Spring and Autumn era, a great sage emerged, known as "the Dragon whose head and tail cannot be seen." He was revered as Laozi. In the eyes of all Chinese people, Laozi holds the position of a true spiritual father. Laozi, relying on a mysterious and novel experience from the depths of his soul, as well as natural communication with heaven and earth, established a vast and majestic philosophical system. This system liberated the relationships between heaven, earth, all things, nature, and the universe from human superficial treatment, carefully connecting them through subtle means. It adjusted the abnormal relationships between existing nations, society, life, and human existence, then meticulously linked them together. It elevated the vast distance between time and space through the power of the mind and spirit, blending it into harmony with life. In this sense, Laozi became the spiritual giant of the entire Chinese nation, and his Tao Te Ching became the life guide for all the people. Now, let us together step into the world of Laozi.
Laozi's Tao Te Ching consists of merely 5,000 words, yet it encompasses the universe, nature, heaven and earth, all things, past and present, and everything from ancient to modern times. It touches upon nations, society, life, politics, economy, culture, and military. It covers knowledge, thought, learning, and belief. It spans the past, present, and future. The Tao Te Ching includes all the issues of contemporary society. However, due to the profoundness and depth of Laozi's thoughts, as well as the simplicity and conciseness of his language, later generations often misinterpreted his philosophy. This book, written in the style of a novel, uses colloquial language and a modern perspective to strive to Laozi and recreate the way of Laozi.
