Features: This book can serve as a textbook or teaching reference for undergraduate and graduate students in logistics engineering, logistics management, industrial engineering, and other related fields in higher education institutions. It can also be used as a work guide or manual for technical personnel such as logistics information system developers and business operations managers. Additionally, it can serve as a training textbook for enterprises to train senior logistics management and operation personnel. The book is divided into nine parts. Part 1: Introduction to Logistics Informatization. This section focuses on introducing the basic concepts, types, structures, and development history of logistics information systems. It comprehensively covers the planning and design methods of logistics management information systems, helping readers establish a complete framework for logistics information.
Part 2: Fundamentals of Information System Development Technology. Starting from the perspective of management information system development, this section details the system development technologies, processes, and methods related to logistics information systems. It particularly delves into new database technologies and software development technology frameworks, enabling readers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of modern software technology development and the technical foundation for logistics information system development.
Part 3: Logistics Information Collection Technology and Information Guidance Technology. Based on the author's years of work experience, this section introduces the concept of logistics information guidance technology.
Part 4: Decision-Making Methods in Logistics Informatization. From the perspective of logistics management, this section explores inventory control techniques and transportation decision-making techniques in logistics information system development.
Part 5: Warehouse Management System (WMS). This section comprehensively examines the information system model of logistics centers, focusing on logistics center operation processes, overall functional structures, the interrelationships and data flows of various system modules, laying a technical foundation for the development of logistics center management information systems.
Part 6: Transportation Management System (TMS). This section first studies the necessity and technical approaches of transportation informatization. It explores key issues in transportation management, including transportation cost management and carrier management methods. It highlights the functional framework and system processes of transportation management systems, and concludes with a case study of transportation management system development based on GIS/GPS technology.
Part 7: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Logistics. As a feature of this book, drawing on the author's practical experience, it clarifies the relationship between ERP and logistics, and explains how specialized logistics enterprises can achieve system integration with customer systems when providing services to clients. This section introduces the core content of ERP systems, including production planning management, inventory management, workshop operation management, procurement management, and customer relationship management. It concludes with a focus on ERP implementation and project management.
Part 8: Interface Technology. The key to objectification is the transparency of information. How to achieve information interconnection and realize full-process information sharing is a critical technical challenge in the development of logistics information systems. This section focuses on introducing modern information exchange technologies such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and XML technology.
Part 9: Public Logistics Information Platform Development. Based on a specific example from the author's work, this section explores the basic ideas, workflows, overall platform structure, and design key points for planning and building regional logistics information platforms.
