Features: This book is written as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students. Most books on VHDL are aimed at engineers, so they do not cover all the features of VHDL. Similarly, the content on digital system design included in this book is not covered in typical VHDL books. This book is a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students, primarily covering all the features of VHDL and also including knowledge related to digital system design. The book is divided into 13 chapters, including the use of electronic design automation tools, CMOS and programmable logic processes, the basic principles of Boolean algebra and combinational logic design, various modeling techniques, the design of finite state machines, and three important testability design techniques: scan paths, built-in self-tests, and boundary scan, among others. Finally, it introduces VHDL-AMS and mixed-signal modeling. Compared to the previous edition, the differences in this book include sections on writing test benches in relevant chapters and an additional chapter on VHDL-AMS and mixed-signal modeling. This book can be used as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students in electronic, electrical, and computer engineering, as well as a reference for related technical engineers.
