Features: Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), one of Germany's greatest composers, was born into a musical family in Eisenach. From the age of eighteen, he served as a music director and organist in various churches and courts. During his lifetime, Bach was renowned only as an organist, but nearly a century after his death, his works finally received the recognition they deserved. A devout religious man, Bach used the hymns of the Lutheran Protestant Church and the church organ as the core of his creative material and musical ideas. However, he was deeply influenced by the Enlightenment of the bourgeoisie, which allowed his religious works to break through the norms of church music, imbuing them with rich secular emotions and bold innovative spirit. His compositions primarily featured polyphonic techniques, with rigorous structures, introspective emotions, philosophical depth, and logical coherence. Building upon the foundation of German national music, he synthesized the musical traditions of the Netherlands, Italy, and France since the 16th century, reaching the pinnacle of Baroque music development. Bach's works had an extremely profound influence on the development of modern European music, opening up broad prospects for the advancement of music for all humanity, establishing a monumental achievement in classical music worldwide. Therefore, Bach is known as the "Father of Western Music." Bach's life was filled with an immense body of work, including over 200 religious and secular cantatas, several religious Passion settings, the Mass in B Minor, the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Inventions and Sinfonias, the Suites for Clavier, Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Cello, six Brandenburg Concertos, four Orchestral Suites, and a vast number of organ works, as well as his later work, The Art of Fugue.
