Yuan Dejin, born in 1951 in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, graduated from Sun Yat-sen University and Peking University with a master's degree in philosophy. Currently, he is a researcher at the Mao Zedong Military Thought Research Institute of the Military Academy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and a doctoral supervisor. His main works include A Course in Mao Zedong Military Thought and A Chronicle of the Northwest Liberation War, among others. He has also published numerous academic papers. This book is another significant work by the two authors. The first volume was written by Tan Yiqing, while the second volume was written by Yuan Dejin.
