The poems of Xiao Kaiyu

Features: Shi Kaiyu's Poetry collects nearly a hundred poems written by the author since he began writing. Although not his complete works, they provide a glimpse into the author's writing style. From this book onwards, the cover design of the Blue Star Poetry Library changed, becoming more exquisite in printing. Xiao Kaiyu is a typical 1990s poet, if 1990s poetry can be considered valid in poetic terms. Due to his aversion to delicate poetic styles and his optimistic attitude toward the 'present,' Xiao Kaiyu intentionally crafted his poems to be expansive, rough, and solid. At the same time, his poetry also exhibits stylistic diversity, and more importantly, these varied works are always inspired and driven by real-life experiences. In 1996, Xiao Kaiyu completed his most important work to date, A Tribute to Du Fu, a collection of ten poems with over 100 lines, which focuses on two issues he cared about: poetic art and reality. Xiao Kaiyu's other major works include The Zoo and The Curse from Hainan Island. Under the requirement of 'complexity,' Xiao Kaiyu's poetry appears vibrant and dynamic. His core concern has always been the inescapable antagonistic relationship between the poet and society.
