Features: Huang Xianguo's long "Artillery Home," a military-themed novel filled with the atmosphere of military life, light-hearted, humorous, thought-provoking, and highly readable. It draws from the real-life experiences of artillery soldiers. The protagonists, the short-statured division commander Zhao Tiegang and the political commissar Lu Jianjun, are modern military figures with distinct personalities, deeply caring for their soldiers, and consider the unit as their home, embodying the spirit of their era. The story revolves around the daily life of the unit, opposing bureaucracy and formalism, with the cleverly crafted tale of the division commander leading the leaders into the "dry toilet" being particularly innovative! The relationship between the unit and the local "Liu Jia Pu" is vividly and dynamically portrayed. The humor of the division commander Zhao Tiegang, the "old routines" of the company and platoon commanders, and the mischievous yet intelligent and lovable new soldier Wang Xiaowang add new vibrant characters to the gallery of military life. The story also incorporates the personal romantic experiences between the short-statured division commander and his old comrade Bai Mei, creating a unique love story between old friends and a fresh dynamic in their relationship. The work skillfully handles this "emotional thread," maintaining a delicate balance and a fresh tone, which is truly remarkable. It adds a brilliant touch to the timeliness and watchability of military-themed works. "Artillery Home" is set in the "present tense" of military life, with a novel theme, vivid character portrayals, distinct Northeastern regional characteristics, unique innovative awareness, lively narrative language, and strong artistic appeal. It is highly readable and a rare mainstay work with profound life roots in recent years, yet also rich in laugh-out-loud light comedy style.
