Features: This book is a supplementary textbook designed to accompany the Ministry of Education's New Century Network Course Project – "Microcomputer Principles and Applications." The content is divided into 12 chapters. Chapter 1 briefly introduces the fundamental mathematical and digital logic circuit knowledge required for learning and applying microcomputers. Chapters 2 to 6 take the IBM PC/XT system as an example to explain the basic principles of the 8086/8088 microprocessor, system bus formation, instruction set, assembly language programming, memory organization, basic data transfer methods, and common interface circuit chips. Chapter 7 briefly introduces the bus arbiter 8289, the digital coprocessor 8087, the input/output processor 8089, the microprocessor upgrade chips 80286, 80386, 80486, and high-speed cache memory (Cache). Chapter 8 briefly describes the basic structure and principles of modern 32-bit microcomputer systems through an introduction to the Pentium machine. Chapter 9 introduces disk organization and file systems, as well as basic I/O call functions, which are of great significance for improving the design efficiency of computer application systems. Chapter 10 introduces the principles of single-chip microcomputers. Chapter 11 introduces the principles of D/A and A/D converters. Chapter 12 discusses the general design of microcomputer application systems.
