Features: This dictionary includes all 2,235 simplified characters from the "General Table of Simplified Characters" republished in 1986. Additionally, the 39 selected characters from the "Table for Rectifying Variant Characters" are also included and treated as simplified characters, bringing the total to 2,274 simplified characters. The term "simplified character" is a specialized designation used to distinguish it from the general term "simple form of traditional characters" used for both ancient and modern characters. This dictionary is divided into two parts: phonetic pronunciation and interpretation, with the main features reflected in the interpretation section. In this part, we introduce the radicals, graphic structure, character formation methods, and simplification methods of simplified characters. Furthermore, based on ancient textual resources such as character books, rhyming dictionaries, and handwritten or published manuscripts, we provide historical evidence and precedents for certain simplified characters or simplification methods in the evolution of Chinese character fonts.
