If someone tells you that in a hidden corner of the Earth, there exists a world ruled by women, where matriarchal family life with no marriage for men or women is still vividly practiced to this day, you might find it hard to believe. Yet, it is indeed real and has existed for thousands of years, continuing the ancient dream and still observing the increasingly unfamiliar world with its own perspective. She is the Lugu Lake on the plateau of northwest Yunnan, known to the world as the "Land of Women." It is the cradle of the Mosuo people. The mountains there are called Women's Mountains, the lake is called Mother Lake, and the river is called Mosuo River. This land seems to have become a garden ruled by grandmothers, where the smoke from kitchens resembles female flags, forever telling endless stories.
