Modern Mathematics Handbook: Random Mathematics Volume

Author: Editorial Committee of the "Handbook of Modern Mathematics"
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2000-12-02
Features: As a mathematical reference book, what characteristics should this monumental handbook possess? During the writing process, a consensus was reached between the publisher's leadership and us that the handbook should be scientific, advanced, practical, standardized, and concise. Over 200 contributors and reviewers put in hard work according to these features and requirements, and we want to thank their joint cooperation and efforts for making the handbook largely reflect the desired qualities mentioned above. This series is a key publishing project under China's "Nineth Five-Year Plan." To facilitate readers' selection and use, the handbook is published in five volumes, titled "Classical Mathematics," "Modern Mathematics," "Computer Mathematics," "Stochastic Mathematics," and "Economic Mathematics." It should be noted that the categorization of each branch (chapter) is relative, considering the balance of (length) across the different volumes. For example, the chapter on "Monte Carlo Method" could also be included in the "Computer Mathematics" volume.
