Alastair L. Day has worked in the finance industry for 20 years, involved in activities such as capital trading and lease management, as well as marketing management. He initially worked for NFC, handling capital trading and lease management. With NFC's privatization in 1980, he shifted to market operations. In the 1980s, he became the chairman of a leasing company, which rapidly grew through IT, printing, and industrial manufacturing projects. In the late 1980s, Chairman Alastair L. Day sold the company to a listed public company. In 1990, Alastair L. Day founded System Finance PLC, serving as an advisor and financial lessor for the computer and communications industry. He holds a degree in economics and German from the University of London, an MBA in business administration from the Open University Business School, and served as an associate lecturer in corporate finance at the Open University.
In addition to his work on this book, Alastair L. Day has authored other works such as The Finance Director's Guide to Purchasing and Leasing, and has developed numerous software products. He also offers both public and internal courses covering a wide range of topics, including financial modeling, leasing, credit, and cash flow analysis, as well as other corporate finance issues.
