Features: There are too many cartoonists in the world, countless in number, but those who can be truly called world humor masters are few and far between. The Argentine cartoonist Quino is undoubtedly one of the few true world humor masters. Quino's original name is Horacio Salvador Labardo, and he was born in Mendoza, Argentina, in 1932, later settling in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. In his early years, Quino studied at the Buenos Aires School of Fine Arts and, after graduation, made a living as a painter. In the mid-1960s, he gained fame by creating the comic strip "Mafalda" for the renowned weekly magazine "Pepito" and the newspaper "El Mundo" in Buenos Aires. In addition to "Mafalda," over the decades, Quino created a vast number of single-panel cartoons and non-serial comic strips, which were compiled into more than a dozen comic books such as Men and Women, The Quino Method, The Birth of Man, Don't Shout at Me, and his works have had a global impact. Quino is adept at using a sharp, detached perspective to deliver incisive critiques of human nature and to expose the diverse facets of everyday life. His works are biting and, piercing right to the heart, while his narrative and artistic techniques have reached the pinnacle of perfection. In the early 1990s, our publishing house was the first to introduce Quino's comic works to China, releasing two versions—Mafalda and Quino Comics—which had a certain impact at the time. However, due to the limitations of the time, these earlier versions contained very few works. Currently, through the persistent efforts of our publishing house, we have secured the copyright for Quino's comics, enabling us to present his masterpieces in full. It should be especially noted that all the works in this collection of Men and Women are making their debut in China and do not overlap with the content of the previous two Quino Comics versions. Moreover, this comic book exclusively features wordless comic strips, considered the finest among the master's masterpieces, and is a must-read for both readers and cartoonists alike.
