Features: Wang Qingsheng, a native of Zunhua County, Hebei Province, was born in October 1932. From 1958 to 1959, he took part-time studies in bird-and-flower painting at the Beijing Chinese Painting Academy, receiving instruction from Mr. Yu Fei. In 1961, he was formally admitted to the graduate program of the academy, where he studied meticulous brushwork bird-and-flower painting, as well as freehand bird-and-flower and landscape painting, under masters such as Wang Xue, Wang Shensheng, Ma Jin, and Wu Jingting. He graduated in 1965 and was retained as a professional painter at the academy. His meticulous brushwork bird-and-flower paintings inherit the tradition of Song Dynasty imperial court painting while drawing from diverse artistic influences, gradually forming his own unique style. His artistic approach is rigorous and exquisite, emphasizing both color and spiritual resonance, capturing the essence through form. His works are rich in life and profound in, appealing to both refined and popular tastes. His paintings have been published and exhibited in major domestic and international exhibitions and are collected by museums, galleries, and other professional institutions. His works are displayed in Zhongnanhai, the Fisherman's Wharf State Guest House, the Tiananmen Gate Tower, and nearly twenty Chinese embassies and consulates abroad. Large-scale masterpieces of his are also found in the Beijing Hotel, Wangfujing Hotel, and Shangri-La Hotel, among others. In 1997, the People's Fine Arts Publishing House published the "Wang Qingsheng Painting Album." He is currently a professor at the Beijing Painting Academy and a member of the China Artists Association.
