2. The entries in each category use current simplified Chinese characters and are arranged in order of stroke count, with fewer strokes listed first and more strokes listed later.
3. Following each entry are the source, a colloquial translation, a metaphorical or explanatory meaning, the etymology and textual variations of the term, and annotations on allusions and difficult characters or words.
4. An index of entries is appended at the end of the book, with the same arrangement rules as in "2."
