Features: The Twelfth National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly identified the development of science and education as one of the strategic priorities for the construction of a socialist modernized society, which greatly inspired the enthusiasm of educators. Learning about educational science and mastering educational laws has become a widely concerned topic. People have also developed an increasing interest in understanding and researching the history of Chinese education development, as well as critically inheriting the rich educational heritage of our country. However, educators generally feel a lack of applicable materials. To meet this urgent demand, we compiled this Concise History of Chinese Education. In the process of writing, we strived to guide ourselves with Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, adhering to pragmatism, emancipating the mind, and providing a comprehensive introduction and clear analysis of educational systems and ideas throughout history. The text is concise and to the point, ensuring both a complete system and clear threads while highlighting key points. It includes necessary historical context while minimizing irrelevant material, striving to reflect the specialized nature of educational history. The book covers over three thousand years of education from ancient times to the founding of the People's Republic of China, divided into fourteen chapters and approximately over 300,000 words. The book is designed to be accessible, with necessary annotations for difficult or obscure phrases, making it suitable for educators with a medium level of education.
