Outline of the History of Chinese Art

Features: This book was written to meet the needs of students in art academies studying the history of Chinese art. We dedicate it to students from other disciplines who are interested in art history and even the humanities. In China, "art history" seems to be a very narrow field of study, but in many comprehensive universities abroad, there are departments of art history. The main difference lies in the perspective: we were accustomed to limiting ourselves to "art" itself, while those who study art history abroad often approach it from the vantage points of "culture" or "humanities." As a result, the classical cultural education of most students is often lacking. With this in mind, we hope this book can inspire non-professional students to develop an interest in the stories of Chinese art and help them understand the significant value of artworks as reflections of the human journey.
