Features: "The Hundred Family Surnames" begins with "Zhao, Qian, Sun, Li" and consists of 472 characters, recording 438 surnames, including 408 single-character surnames and 30 compound surnames. In the early Qing Dynasty, Wang Xiang added annotations to "The Hundred Family Surnames," titled "An Examination of the Hundred Family Surnames," in which he provided research and brief introductions to the origins, ancestral homes, and representative figures of most surnames in the book. He also supplemented some surnames not included in the original text and examined the reason behind using "Zhao, Qian, Sun, Li" as the opening. The arrangement of this book is based on Wang Xiang's "An Examination of the Hundred Family Surnames," providing an overview of "The Hundred Family Surnames" from three aspects: the geographical distribution, origins, and prominence of surnames.
