Features: Sheet metal stamping occupies a very important position in the manufacturing industry of the national economy and has a wide range of applications in fields such as machinery, electronics, automotive, aviation, and light industry (e.g., bicycle, camera, hardware, daily utensils, etc. production). Due to the advantages of stamping processing, such as high production efficiency, low production cost, simple operation, and suitability for mass production, it has a broad development prospect in China's modernization efforts, thus requiring a large number of engineering and technical personnel. Developed countries abroad attach great importance to the application, research, and development of stamping processing technology. China also places strong emphasis on the cultivation of stamping technology talents. In addition to dozens of universities offering metal plastic processing majors, there are numerous vocational colleges and training schools dedicated to cultivating various levels of technical talents in stamping processes and molds. Several teaching materials and books on stamping processes and mold design have been published domestically. However, due to their different positioning, focuses, and target audiences, none of them can fully cover the national market. This book was commissioned by the Education and Training Committee of the National Mold Industry Association and the Electronics Industry Press, based on the needs of training and production of stamping process and mold design technical personnel in China. It references several previously published teaching materials and combines the author's extensive experience in teaching stamping processes and molds. From an applied perspective, the book systematically introduces the basic knowledge, theories, and design methods of stamping processes and mold design. The content includes an overview of stamping processing, the theoretical foundation of stamping deformation, detailed design of blanking processes and molds, bending processes and molds, drawing processes and molds, as well as the deformation analysis and mold characteristics of other forming processes such as flanging and bulging. Chapter 8 is dedicated to the design knowledge of progressive dies, and the final chapter summarizes the general content and methods of stamping process design. To enhance learning effectiveness and practical application skills, each chapter includes carefully selected case studies and exercises in stamping process and mold design. This book can serve as a training textbook for advanced mold design and manufacturing personnel, as well as a professional technical reference book for teaching and research in related disciplines at schools and universities.
