Features: The Practical Dictionary of Ancient Chinese is a medium-sized ancient Chinese reference book primarily focused on explaining classical Chinese terms, while also incorporating ancient encyclopedic knowledge. The book contains approximately 5,000 headwords, along with about 2,000 variant characters and simplified characters, and around 8,000 compound words. The scope of word selection is generally based on common terms, with appropriate adjustments and supplements based on middle school textbooks. It includes various aspects of knowledge necessary for learning ancient Chinese, such as common words, historical anecdotes, and classical texts. The definitions are striving for accuracy, vividness, and simplicity, with example sentences mostly sourced from authoritative classics and well-known works, making them easy to understand and remember. It not only meets the daily learning and reference needs of readers but also allows for leisurely browsing, subtly enhancing cultural knowledge and personal.
