An elephant has a shape

Features: "Erqiao Comics" is a book about Western modern art, including six volumes: "The Journey of Hesitation," "The Voice of Scream," "Reflection in the String," "Garden in the Rain," "Good Morning, Master," and "The Shape of the Elephant." Western modern art is vast, but this book only covers three disciplines: literature, music, and fine arts. People have various understandings of art, and there are diverse works about art: exquisite large art albums, lengthy art history treatises, profound and obscure academic papers, and accessible lecture manuscripts. These different forms elaborate on and enrich the same theme. "Erqiao Comics" is a unique type of book outside these formats. This book focuses on the living artists in the serious and desolate history of art—the very people who are: experienced in life, have encountered many practical contradictions, have formed profound thoughts through their own reflections, and vividly expressed them through their artistic works. The writing of this book does not entirely rely on the framework of art history to force an interpretation; instead, it boldly selects and filters typical writers, works, and their ideological viewpoints in the history of Western modern art, accompanied by corresponding illustrations. For each artist, the content is generally structured around an introduction, major works, ideological viewpoints, and main contributions.
