Features: This textbook is compiled in accordance with the requirements of the "Senior English Teaching Syllabus for English Majors in Higher Education" and the "Senior English Teaching Syllabus for English Majors (Test for English Majors)" issued by the Ministry of Education of China. It is designed for senior students of business English and other related majors in higher education institutions as a coursebook for English-Chinese translation (written translation) and a new teaching material. It is also suitable for senior students of English majors in ordinary universities and self-taught translators. The book follows the principle of combining theory with practice, starting with translation methods, and helps students master certain translation theories and basic translation skills through a large number of translation examples, commentary on translated texts, and exercises. The organization of this book differs from traditional college English-Chinese translation textbooks. The book is divided into sixteen chapters. The first two chapters focus on the basic knowledge of translation theory, enabling students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the nature, standards, process, and methods of translation. From Chapter 3 to Chapter 12, each chapter introduces a commonly used translation technique, combined with translation examples, commentary on translated texts, and various exercises, allowing students to basically master and flexibly apply these techniques. The last four chapters cover text translation, compilation, the introduction of foreign words, and the characteristics of business translation, including the issues to be noted when translating business documents of different types and styles. Each chapter of the book consists of three main parts: teaching points, commentary on translated texts, and exercises, which are mutually complementary and progress step by step, forming a relatively complete system. The book discusses the basic knowledge of translation theory, introduces ten commonly used translation techniques, and combines translation examples, commentary on translated texts, and various exercises to help students basically master and flexibly apply these techniques. The book concludes with an introduction to text translation, compilation, the introduction of foreign words, and the characteristics of business translation.
