Features: This book is written for beginning flute players. To facilitate use, the following instructions are provided:
Chapter 1: An Overview of the Flute. Includes general knowledge of the flute and basic flute playing techniques. Users without a teacher should carefully read the technique sections and refine their playing according to the instructions provided.
Chapter 2: Beginner Flute Exercises. Covers the fundamental knowledge and exercises needed for tone production, fingerwork, and sight-reading. To build a solid global foundation in flute playing, contrastive exercises are adopted. During practice, it is important to ensure all variations are performed at the same tempo—whether quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenth notes, or triplets—to better understand the differences between them and develop both musicality and technical understanding, ultimately laying a strong musical foundation.
Chapter 3: Selected Etudes. The pieces are carefully selected from exercises composed by digital composers. The diverse creative approaches of different composers help readers gain a more comprehensive mastery of flute playing techniques. If you can complete the exercises as instructed, you will reach the level of the Central Conservatory of Music’s amateur flute exams for grades 5 and 6.
Chapter 4: Scales and Basic Exercises.
Chapter 5: Ensemble Pieces. This chapter includes some exam-level repertoire. Chapters 3, 4, and 5 should be used together to ensure a more comprehensive learning experience.
