Features: The Story of Zehra is one of a collection of short stories. The content describes Zehra, a woman from a Shia town in southern Lebanon, who is haunted by terrible memories from her childhood. In her youth, she took the secret of the years of sexual abuse she had suffered to her uncle, who had been forced to flee West Africa due to political reasons. After returning to Beirut, she was caught in the midst of the bloody civil war and used her body to transfer a sniper's killing intent. Beyond the terror and gunfire, a strange sense of fulfillment emerges from her strong desire to find her sister, and she fantasizes about life patterns once the war ends. Her novels give a voice to the suffering of women and are a fighter in the Arab women's liberation movement. She is known for her bold and straightforward approach to issues of characters, sexuality, and politics, which is uncommon among Arab writers, and has attracted much attention from readers both inside and outside Lebanon. This book and many of her other novels have been translated into multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, and others.
