Features: In the 1940s, Wang Qiyao, still a high school student, was chosen as the "Miss Shanghai," marking the beginning of her fateful life. As a canary in the cage of a high-ranking official, she transformed from a girl into a true woman. With the liberation of Shanghai, the official met his demise, and Wang Qiyao became an ordinary citizen. Her outward life was as dull as still water, but the tides of her inner emotions never subsided. Her complex relationships with several men seemed predestined. In the 1980s, at the age of wisdom, Wang Qiyao could not escape her fate, becoming entangled in an abnormal love affair with her daughter's male classmate. On the Shanghai waterfront, where prosperity and ruin coexisted, the alleys and lanes adorned with national flags, the elegant Huaihai Road, the towering French (sycamore trees), and the elusive Shanghai women—all embodied the warmth and ambiguity of love between men and women, the hesitation to confess; the relentless competition and hidden struggles among women; and the mutual incompatibility and hidden agendas between mother and daughter. The novel "A Love Story" has been highly regarded by renowned writers such as Fang Fang and Chen Cun, and has won the Mao Dun Literature Prize. The audio version of "A Love Story" by Jiajia Listening Library, brought to life by a voice that never fades, offers listeners a truly perfect presentation. The senior announcer vividly and movingly portrays the unfortunate life and tragic fate of a vulnerable woman, delving into the depths of every character's psyche and bringing them to life with striking realism.
