Features: Execution is the biggest challenge facing any enterprise (whether in New York or Beijing) today. Execution is not just about whether something can be completed or not; it is a set of very specific behaviors and techniques. Execution must be implemented in the operation of core processes, with an "execution operation manual." Because operationalization is the prerequisite for execution, and theory itself is not operational, there is a gap between management theory and management practice—"Theory is gray, while the tree of practice is evergreen." This gap needs to be filled with "cement," and that "cement" is a clearly expressed, written execution operation manual. The execution operation manual cannot stay at the level of theory or be limited to experience, because experience is narrow; it should be the sublimation of experience, and should be universally applicable, not just for a specific time, place, or task, but for all times, places, and tasks. Using the execution operation manual to implement execution is like using a "management compass" to draw the circle of management. This book is centered on managers, always revolving around the question: How should production and operations managers act to successfully complete their tasks? Based on a thorough understanding of "why we manage production and operations this way," this book primarily focuses on "how to manage production and operations." Although the book is lengthy, it is not exhaustive but highly selective. The main content it aims to cover is the workflow of production and operations, and it selects material content based on this standard. The starting point is that production and operations are not about applying tools to materials but about applying logic to work.
