It's always said that French pronunciation is difficult, and many beginners are afraid to speak or even give up because they struggle with it. In fact, French pronunciation isn't that hard! The key is to master the basic steps and techniques of French word-by-word pronunciation from the start, and then practice more to easily overcome the challenges. This book is divided into two parts: French word-by-word pronunciation and French standard pronunciation practice.
The first part follows the principle of "pronouncing words by sight," using a simple and clear layout to summarize the learning of French pronunciation into five basic steps and twelve key points. Additionally, based on the focus of each chapter and the materials needed for beginners, it provides rich and practical exercises. This allows learners to practice pronunciation while also learning some useful words, phrases, and short sentences, thereby increasing their interest and effectiveness in learning.
The second part includes three sections: phonetic exercises, sentence exercises, and listening and reading exercises. Each section contains diverse written and dictation exercises. The goal is to guide learners to practice from the smallest units of phonetic symbols, gradually progressing to sentence and paragraph exercises. From a comprehensive perspective, it helps readers overcome their fear and obstacles with phonetic symbols, enabling them to speak beautiful and standard French.
Another key feature is that all nouns are accompanied by articles, so readers can learn the gender of nouns while practicing pronunciation without needing to spend extra time looking them up in a dictionary. However, to avoid issues caused by liaison, the articles are not pronounced in the accompanying MP3 audio.
Second, most exercises include Chinese translations to help readers memorize individual words or understand sentence meanings.
Third, the back of the book includes a "French word endings pronunciation chart," which can address long-standing doubts about the pronunciation of French word endings.
This book is suitable not only for beginners but also for those who have been learning French for a long time but still struggle to speak standard French. The authors hope that this book can truly help those who are determined to learn French well.
