To inherit and explore the legacy of Chinese medical heritage and better utilize Chinese herbal medicines in preventing and treating diabetes and cardiovascular diseases for human health, we were commissioned by Guangxi Science and Technology Publishing House. Following the principles of safety, effectiveness, simplicity, affordability, and accessibility of medicinal resources, we selected commonly used and highly effective Chinese herbal medicines from folk traditions. Combined with the compilers' clinical experience and references from relevant literature, we compiled this book, A Color Atlas of Chinese Herbal Medicines for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases.
This book includes 100 clinically common Chinese herbal medicines for treating diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Each entry is organized by name (alternative names), source, morphology, habitat distribution, collection and processing, properties, dosage, contraindications, empirical formulas, and notes. Additionally, the book features 433 effective empirical formulas, each listed under the corresponding Chinese herbal medicine. The table of contents is arranged in order of stroke count.
This book is suitable for reference by grassroots healthcare providers and enthusiasts of traditional Chinese medicine. It can also serve as a resource for researchers and developers working on diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
